The Hoops Scoop - October 31, 2011

The Hoops Scoop is a compilation of the day’s top local basketball news.
- There is a possibility J.R. Smith and Wilson Chandler could return to the NBA this season even though their contracts specifically stipulates they can’t opt out. But the teams could simply cut the players, and they could return.
- Speaking of J.R….It sounds like he is getting the royal treatment from his Chinese club. The team has hired a chef and two translators to help Smith adjust to life overseas.
- The Colorado State Rams won’t have as much size this year, but they’re counting on junior forwards Pierce Hornung and Greg Smith to provide interior toughness. Making up for a lack of size, is a deep backcourt led by Wes Eikmeier and Dorian Green.
- The University of Colorado, without a notable superstar, is hoping to sneak up on teams this year.
