- Caitlin Duffy, a senior out of Rapid City, SD, committed to Colorado State University. Duffy gave a verbal commitment to coach Kristen Holt Monday night. The last Rapid City recruit to attend CSU was WNBA star Becky Hammon.
- Nuggets guard Ty Lawson, currently playing for Zalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania, drew some ire for this recent tweet: “I coulda sat home and played NBA 2K12 and got the same thing accomplished that we did in practice smh.”
- The University of Colorado is competing with Cal to land 6-foot-4 point guard Tyrone Wallace Jr. from Bakersfield, Calif. Wallace Jr. is ranked No. 78 nationally by Rivals.com.
- The University of Denver women’s basketball team was picked to win the West Division of the Sun Belt Conference in the coaches’ preseason poll.
- Woody Paige, of the Denver Post, interviewed George Karl to get his take on the current state of the NBA lockout.
- The Colorado Miners Community Center provides a haven for Denver’s youth.
